Azusa Block 36 Project Approved!

WHA is excited to announce that our proposal with Serrano Development for the Azusa Block 36 RFP has been selected! Although the Azusa City Council voted against the project at their May 16th meeting, the Council reconvened on June 6th and voted 5-0 in favor of WHA’s design. The public was loud and clear about their support of the project and their desire to have a Laemmle theater in Azusa. The City Council listened.

Project Details:

•          Flagship downtown Azusa property

•          2.24-acre TOD (Transit Oriented Development) site

•          Adjacent to the historic Route 66

•          Within a 1/4 mile walk of the newly expanded Foothill Gold Line station

•          Laemmle theater

•          108 residential units

•          +/- 40,000 SF of retail

•          +/- 250-stall parking structure

The pedestrian-friendly design creates a plaza in front of the theater for dining and activates the street along Azusa Avenue and Foothill Boulevard. This project will invigorate the downtown core and create a vibrant transit-oriented hub for the residents and visitors of Azusa.

WHA is thrilled to be a part of this project!
