Still Thankful

Thanksgiving is near,

But maybe family won’t be,

Still, thankful this year.

– Anthony Fossi

The Haiku rings true, we have a lot to be thankful for. Even in the face of a global pandemic, uncertainty, and distance from others, we are reminded of what truly matters.

WHA prompted our staff to reflect on the year and express what they are thankful for. We hope these responses bring you warmth and encouragement this Thanksgiving holiday!

  • “I’m thankful to take time and space to simplify my life in the midst of all the uncontrollable events around us.”
  • “I am thankful for a reminder of priorities: faith, family, and friends.”
  • “We have so many things to be thankful for! Most importantly, I’m thankful for my family and that we are all healthy, especially our growing baby girl.”
  • “Oddly enough, I am thankful for the time that we had to spend at home this year. Although we became sick of each other while working/schooling from home, we learned so much about ourselves and one another, which ultimately brought us all closer together.”
  • “Family! And living in a place with beautiful outdoors to escape to in these crazy times!”
  • “I am thankful for finding a job in the middle of a pandemic and joining the WHA team. Everyone has been so kind and helpful, as well as for the support of friends and family.”
  • “I’m happy to be in this awesome profession with a great company that is an essential element to providing homes for so many people!”
  • “I am thankful for health for my family, my co-workers, and friends.”
  • “I am thankful that WHA is healthy and has many new opportunities and clients. I am thankful for WHA’s beautiful new space and having a view of the Pacific Ocean each day. I am thankful for Bill and his optimistic outlook on WHA’s future and for being a wonderful visionary for our firm.”
  • “… At WHA, I feel we are all blessed to remain employed, still having the opportunity to work on creative and challenging projects with our clients. We are especially thankful to our families for allowing us to work from home and redesign our interior spaces into offices and multi-use spaces during our work from home period.”

We will continue to move forward and take all of the lessons learned throughout this year to reset and re-create our own “new normal”, transitioning us into the new year with a better balance of family, relationships, health and happiness at home and in the workplace.

Happy Thanksgiving All!
