Santa Clara’s New Blueprint

In the heart of Santa Clara, Blueprint by Taylor Morrison brings a contemporary vision of high-density living to life. Designed in collaboration with Hayden Land Company, LLC, and completed by Taylor Morrison, this project delivers a residential community within a compact 1.88-acre site. Offering 48 residences across three distinct building types, Blueprint seamlessly integrates live/work units, flats, and townhomes to accommodate a diverse range of homeowners while contributing to the city’s vision for urban growth.

Designed with professionals, families, and urban dwellers in mind, six floor plans ranging from 705 to 3,125 square feet ensures that homeowners have options tailored to their needs. A central courtyard provides a common outdoor space where residents can connect, relax, and entertain, fostering a sense of community. Overall, Blueprint consists of three architecturally distinctive buildings that provide a variety of living experiences:

Building A: A four-story, elevator-served structure with 26 units. The ground level features six live/work residences that engage directly with the active El Camino Real Boulevard, creating a dynamic streetscape. The second level offers one- and two-bedroom flats, while the upper levels feature two-story, two-bedroom townhomes with private balconies. The design embraces an urban loft aesthetic with polished tile, metal awnings, and natural stone detailing.

Building B: Two interlocking three- and four-story condominium buildings, each housing eight units. These homes offer three- to four-bedroom layouts with private balconies and attached two-car garages. Fronting the community park, Building B brings a residential feel to the development while maintaining a modern design that steps down in height to blend seamlessly with the neighborhood.

Building C: A four-story, six-unit condominium building that combines single-level flats and two-story townhomes. Each residence includes three bedrooms, an attached tandem garage, and raised stoop entries to enhance privacy.

Blueprint stands as a model for smart urban growth in Santa Clara. The development overcame zoning constraints through close collaboration with city planners and neighboring residents, ultimately achieving approval as a high-density residential enclave. Its design balances density with livability, incorporating thoughtful massing, articulated architecture, and a diverse material palette to create a cohesive yet visually engaging streetscape.

The city’s enthusiasm for the project was evident in its request to illuminate the buildings at night—an acknowledgment of Blueprint’s architectural significance. Situated along a major transportation corridor, the project enhances the vibrancy of El Camino Real while providing much-needed housing in a rapidly growing region.
