The MAME Award Goes to…

The 2021 Award Season is upon us! BIA Bay Area MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) Awards was hosted on June 11th at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA for the second year in a row. We had three WHA San Ramon employees in attendance who watched the drive-in style ceremony. The event was like a large summer picnic where attendees walked around and reconnected with colleagues in a comfortable outdoor setting. This year, we took home an award for Ridgeview Residence 3 that won “Best Architectural Design Attached Home – Over 2,000 SF”! We are proud to be recognized for this award with our client Lennar amongst such great design competition.

Ridgeview is unique in the San Ramon marketplace; it provides single-story living in a setting of primarily single-family homes and townhomes. The neighborhood is located at the highest point of the Faria Preserve, and this arrangement of attached homes was designed to maximize the views of the city. As the name suggests, the homes overlook an adjacent city park and dramatic views of the San Ramon Valley.

The three floorplans at Ridgeview, ranging from 1,829 – 2,588 SF, have strong characteristics. Plan 3 stands out because of its generous and dramatic spaces, including 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a two-bay garage. The entry creates a statement for this home. It is elevated by volume ceilings from the ground floor to the third level. In this plan, the living primarily takes place on the second level. A substantially sized kitchen and kitchen island open to the family and dining area and just beyond is an expansive deck. The volume ceilings enhance the living experience by creating a nice open feel that is reinforced by the deck. Appealing to the work-from-home buyer, two opportunities for pocket offices are provided in this plan: one off the stair and one in the second bedroom. The third level hosts a loft that overlooks the living area, creates connection points, and provides a separated space from the rest of the home.

Initially, it was assumed that the project would attract down-sizing empty-nesters, but we soon came to realize it is quite popular with young couples and families. With close access to the city park, residents can enjoy amenities like soccer and baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a clubhouse with swimming facilities, and even a formal rose garden. Ridgeview also has a quiet pocket park and playground for small children in the community. The neighborhood truly offers its residents a great quality of life with a connection to outdoor features and the next generation of flexible floorplans.

We are honored to be recognized for award-winning residential architecture in our own backyard of San Ramon. And congratulations to all the 2021 MAME Award winners! We are excited to see what new design inspirations this next year will bring.
